Breaking the Silence “Alumni” Delegation to Guatemala – Deepening and Strengthening Relationships 2015
In March 2015, a delegation of 15 BTS members will explore history, human rights and social justice in Guatemala. For the group, all of whom have already traveled to Guatemala through a BTS lead delegation in the past 25 yeas, it will be both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to learn more and deepen relationships with Guatemalan friends and partners.
The delegation will visit BTS partners in Rabinal, San Lucas Toliman, and Chimaltenango, meet with community members affected by Canadian mining companies and participate in the International Women’s Day March in Guatemala City. In addition, the group will travel to Rio Negro for the 33nd anniversary of the massacre of March 13 which claimed the lives of over 177 women and children.
This is an opportunity for BTS “alumni” to reconnect, to reflect, and to deepen our learnings around what it means to be in solidarity. Don’t miss hearing about their experience! Read all about it here and check back often for updates!
See you in Guate!
