Please join BTS as we welcome two Xinka women leaders, Marisol Guerra and Marta Muñoz to the Maritimes to raise awareness about their struggle for self-determination.

In May 2025, the Xinka Indigenous People of Guatemala denied consent for Canadian mining company, Pan American Silver to restart operations at the Escobal mine and are now calling for its permanent closure.

Marta and Marisol will speak to their concerns about the mine, threats and attacks against the Xinka People, and their hopes for the future.
